Red face Im really scared

Im Really scared at the moment. I am In my living room, on the computer and Keely is barking and growling out towards the Family room/kitchen/porch! Im Really scared because she hasnt really barked while we had her, let alone growl. And her ears are perked up and Shes keeping her eyes on the entrance to the three other rooms. Right now shes sitting at my feet as if to say "I'll protect you". I forgot to mention that my Dad and my brother are in Alberta and My mom is at work an hour away! i dont understand, im afraid to go out there, and like i said, we havent heard a sound out of her since we got her, this is very unusual behaviour for her and im scared! Plus i am very superstitous and ive heard that dogs can sense spirits around:sad: I know i sound like a .. I need comfort!

Don't worry, its likely just something new that has caught her interest and she is trying to figure it out... go and take a peek for yourself.
I still get scared at times when I am home alone but then I realize its usually just my over-active imagination playing tricks on me!!
let us know how you're doing....

I get that way sometimes too, but usually only at night. What about taking Keely for a quick walk around the block? Or go from room to room so that you can see and tell yourself that everything is ok!? Or calling a friend?

You still awake there babymomma? Hope you have settled yourself down now and haven't passed out. Let us know how you're doing. And I wouldn't worry about ghosts and such. Far more likely your pup just hears a strange noise outside that you can't pick up. Relax and have a game of ball with the puppy, it will settle you both down.

You ok? You're not a , we all get the creeps once and a while...I've heard that too, but then again, Im crazy that way, Ive sense spirits too, but good ones.

The more tense and scared you get, her reaction will be the same, if you show concern, she will too. They feed off our energy, good and bad.

Did you move any furniture or anything new in your space? We hung a Calgary Flames flag in the window during play offs and Dazy flipped out, anything we move or add she notices right away...and freaks out, I put a mirror in the hallway and she was growling at herself, a new rake leaning against the fence, she barks at the vaccumm when its not running...etc...

They can also hear things we can't - as in neighbours, sirens, the furnice turning on...

When Chase was a pup he would sometimes go berserk over something so minor as a bug on the wall that I didn't even notice. To hear him you'd have thought there was an axe murderer in the next room. Sometimes the young pups overreact to stuff.

Uh-Oh

I feel so bad now, My mom figured out last night why she was growling Somebody stole our Wheelbarrow and a Very expensive peice of eqiupment(Not sure what its called, my dad uses it for work) That belongs to my dad.. Who ever it was Went through a trail in the woods and took what ever he could find of value to him in our shed ( I didnt see him because our shed is Pretty far away from our house (we have alot of land) And I did notice that she started after she came in from peeking through our patio door (you can see the trail he/she went through from the patio door so i guess she spotted him) I feel so dumb:sad: I was home, sitting in my house. And we got robbed? I feel really bad, but my mom said she didnt care about the stuff as long as me and keely were okay, He/she could have very well tried to break into the house The cops came to my house today and i ddint like that at all ( I have a Serious problem with authorities, dont ask me why, I seriously dont know why) I feeel VERY STUPID!! URRGGHH You'd think i would be able to hear it!

Oh my, don't feel stupid for not knowing, it may have for the best that the robbers didn't know you were in the house.

Dogs are amazing creatures and can hear/smell things that we can't. Did Keely get a special treat for being an A-1 guard doggie?

Maybe he only took what was in the shed because of the barking coming from your house. I think you were very lucky to have your pup there with you, and probably lucky you didn't go out in the yard. More treats!!

It's unlikely he'll come back, he wasn't chased off and he now knows there's a dog in the house.

I hope he doesnt come back! Our dog is a yorkie, but her bark is Surprisingly big for her size and she sounds just as scary as the GSD i walk. The cop suggested we put up "Guard dog on duty" signs, just to keep robbers away from our house! lol I think we may do it!
