They've moved on to the next stage of the investigation.

It's so very very sad. I just feel knots in my tummy when I know a child is missing.

Unhappy update on the case

Regina police to re-focus on Keepness family
Last Updated Wed, 14 Jul 2004 09:04:02 EDT
REGINA - Police in Regina are investigating what they call unexplained comings and goings on the night Tamra Jewel Keepness disappeared.

Police Chief Cal Johnston says the family will be re-interviewed.

INDEPTH: Missing Children
However, Tamra's stepfather, Dean McArthur told the National Post the family have become "key targets" of the police investigation. McArthur said his wife was not home on the night in question and that their 11-year-old daughter has been pressured by police to implicate them.

McArthur told the paper he and Tamra's mother, Lorena, have also given police names of five people who may be connected with her disappearance, including a convicted sex offender.

Tamra disappeared from her bedroom on July 5 and was reported missing by her family the next day. Police called off the official search for the missing aboriginal girl Monday at 9 p.m.

FROM JULY 13, 2004: Police offer $25,000 to help find Tamra
Tamra's mother and stepfather have criticized police for stopping the search.

Police would not say why the search was called off, only that they have searched everywhere they can, logging more than 5,000 hours. Police say they are ready to resume the search if they get new information.

Hanya Peigan
The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations has called on other native people to keep up the search for five-year-old Tamra. Hanya Peigan, Tamra's aunt, told CBC Newsworld that people from reserves all over the province will be arriving Wednesday to help the family.

"[Her disappearance] has made them more aware of each other. We're all human, we love one another and we have to help each other," said Peigan.

Police have posted a $25,000 reward to anyone who can provide leads to Tamra's whereabouts by calling 1-866-80-TAMRA.

God be with them all! I can't imagine the fears, worries, sleepless nights, unable to eat, think, coping is barely enough! sigh
