Lump on ear

Hey everyone, I'm brand new here. I noticed a nasty looking lump on my year old boxer/german sheppard's ear today. She doesn't seem to be in pain, as she still acts like her normal (silly and cuddly) self most of the time. My first instinct was to take her to the vet, but since she's sleeping contently right now I don't think it's that serious of problem.

This is Ella:

She normally doesn't look so disgruntled. :P

here's the lump:

Inseparable.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Lump on ear

Your dogs are beautiful. I think a vet visit should be scheduled as we cannot make a diagnosis over the net.

I second the vet visit advice , I've never seen a bump like this one on an ear.

And yes , they are both gorgeous dogs !

I agree - a visit to the vet. And, yes, I have seen such a lump - it our case it was not serious and dealt with easily, but best to have it checked out. Actually at age 11 I had the same type of lump behind my ear, so had a pretty good idea how vet would handle it, unless of course my dog's lump was caused by a health problem.
