15,000 stray dogs to be killed in Athens to help the city to be more asthectically pleasing for the visit fans of the Olypmics....wonderful what the Olympics bring to a country - inhumane acts of violence so that visiting "civilized" people are happy.

Sammiec,it happened somewhere else, but I forgot where....for the same reason.
Also it does not surprise me the Greeks are using poison, the most inhumane way to kill anything and everything. I can just picture kids playing around dead or dying dogs and other animals beeing affected. Personally I think this Olympics have become a farce, the greeks are cleaning the streets of any undesirables including humans, not to say the greeks are alone in this,it happens in most countries before a big international even. At the same time,it's not more cruel than Ontarios resent record of slaughtering 9.700 raccoons and foxes plus shooting 3.000 Cormorants. More and more I am losing my faith in humans, maybe I'll buy an island and take all unwanted and tortured animals with me
