My Girl Venus

Venus was my heart dog. My best friend. My partner in crime. My first dog and the one that created such a deep love for the breed, I couldn't imagine not having them in my life. I lived with a girl who owned an amazing pit bull named Chassis. She was my first real introduction to the breed and when I was moving away, I knew I wanted one to call my own. Strangely enough, word must have gotten through the grapevine and I got a call at work one day and an aquaintence asked me if I wanted a pit bull puppy. The "breeder" had ditched the litter way to young, and they wound up with two females but only wanted one so they brought me Venus. I was her second owner at three and a half weeks old. It is still so hard for me to find the words to describe not only our connection, but just how amazing she was and how devestating loosing her was to not only myself, but to everyone that got the chance to know her. She was truely one of a kind. She lived until she was fifteen, passing quietly at home with Raven and I by her side. A part of my heart left with her as she passed, a month after Nyx and barely a year after Marz.

Baby Venus

Venus at about two..

My son was a homebirth and Venus was the first to kiss him, even before me~

Nanny dog extrodinaire!

These two had unlimited patience with kids right up to the very end.

Venus doing her famous "get the light" trick! lol

Rollin' her log!

Yes, she likes tires, too!

Not bad for an old geezer.

Who says on old dog can't learn new tricks! Here she is at 13 learing to use the treadmill. She'd do anything for food.

Beautiful collage of pics of a wonderful girl,so sorry about her passing:sad:
The pics speak volume for the misunderstood breed and for you as an advocate for bullies everywhere.

Zoe, not only are your dogs so lucky to have found you, but clearly your kids are lucky to be growing up in such an awesome house.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Nyx, Venus and Marz.

Though we do not know each other Pit Bull Love, your memorial is touching and heart wrenching. I wish you warmth during this difficult time.

RIP little one.
