Swollen Metatarsus

Koehler my GSD has been limping for about a week. His metatarsus is swollen - right hind leg. Has anyone had this issue? It might have been from playing with our neighbours lab or just regular play. There was no yelp to indicate he had done anything, he just started lifting that leg up. He doesn't whine when we touch the area. Very strange.

We've had a few sprains here over the years. Typically, though, they'll begin to improve 24 to 48 hours after the injury. If it's been a week, it would probably be a good idea to have the leg evaluated by a vet--he many have broken or cracked a bone.
