Dog beds

Looking for dog beds for large breeds. What's the best quality for the cheapest price?

Hazel if memory is correct, you had some neat looking dog beds in your pictures. They looked almost like fabric stretched across PVC or something. What are those and where did you get them?

Frenchy has some nice looking dog beds too. Where'd you get them?

Additional pictures would be nice. Please post!

Oh and since I live in hillbilllyville, Quebec I will most likely have to mail order them. Local stores have crappy selections and there's no Costco or Sams Club type store anywhere near. There is a Canadian Tire but selection is mostly for small dogs. I didn't find anything for large breeds.

Just checked their site...

Cheapest one is $47

They'll only use the dog beds in the bedroom because they have their own couch to lay on downstairs. It's a couch we don't use and we only have it to keep one room from looking empty.

Belle is OK laying on the floor in the bedroom. She sleeps on a crochet thick blanket I made that is folded over. She really likes it there.

But Sheeba INSISTS on sleeping ultra close to me in bed and hubby doesn't want her there any more because she's too big and she won't lay on that blanket, even though it's big enough for both dogs.

If you can't get to a Costco , I would find cheap big pillows and make covers for them

I don't have a sewing machine.

Well if anyone in Quebec feels so inclined, we can send money for the beds and they can be put on the bus C.O.D.

I LOVE the Costco beds - my bf's parents just got one for their dog. But we didn't have a membership when Chase needed a bed, and I found that Canadian Tire has some really great sales. I found a VERY large one for $35 (not as cheap as Costco, but I've seen worse prices), cedar filled, with a removable cover. The cover is also water-resistant - which was good cuz he threw up on it once

Maybe you could ask at your Canadian Tire if they will be getting any large beds in stock soon - they might just be selling really fast. It's a really good quality bed (but I can't remember the brand name and cut the tag off). Attached a picture that might help. Good luck finding one

We have Kuranda beds....like the one in the foreground (though they enjoy loveseats, too )

They're a tad pricier than than $47, though.

Mine sleep on crib mattresses! I duct tape a no slip rug to the top of the mattress, then fold a comforter around the whole thing [the rug prevents the comforter from slipping off easily]. Remove comforter once a week and wash--can't get the crib mattress dirty--you know what it can repel,
