I have a Bichon/poodle puppy. She will be a year old in Aug.
I think that she is in heat. What age does this occure. And how will i
know that she is preg.
The male dog that she is with is 8 months old. Is it possible at there age for
anything to happen?
Thanks

Take your dog and get her spayed now.

For one thing, she is too young to breed, but not too young to get pregnant.. For another, she is a mixed breed and the shelters are full of mixes with no homes.

Besides that, a Bison is more closely related to a cow then a dog, and those are going to be HUGE puppies.

No one on this forum advocates breeding anything that is not up to standard or genetically fit.

LavR, you have a point. A Buffalo Poodle X? Wow, what a mix. I don't think your male dog would want to breed with a Buffalo X. Hmmm, a Buffadog.

Yes, way too many people in my breed seem to be crossing dogs with large herbivores, with unfortunate results.

Sorry, Chucker! If your dog is in heat, and is left with a male dog, she could be pregnant.

If she is very tiny and very young, she could have great difficulty whelping and could need a C-section and/or may not care for the puppies.

Again, I strongly suggest that if you "love her dearly" that you take her and get her spayed ASAP.

Thank you for seeing to a remedy of this situation. Breeding pets can touch a nerve if you have not noticed already. Education is the best avenue to clarify this to new posters, but sometimes frustration takes over and humor takes it's place...this is how some of us deal with the frustration.

My opinion.

hmm.. am I the only new-ish person to not get mad, or offended by the advice I'm given? I remember when I came on here about Chaos and how she might have been pregnant, all I got was great advice, suggestions, and answers to my questions that I dearly needed, and now she's spayed, and extremely happy. I think she may be more happy than before
