Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo, Jiminy....

On Saturday Jimmy is coming to stay with me for a bit... maybe forever.

I first met him a couple of weeks ago when Border Collie Rescue boarded him at SuperDog Central while his foster mom was away, it was instant love. I said 'no' though because he's a little older (3 years) and I really would like something under a year. Then the following Tuesday they brought him to flyball, he's amazing the way he moves, quick on his feet, and he's really smart. We brought him out to test with Willow and they did great! The three of us played ball and had fun. So, I'm bringing him home for a trial to see how he and Willow do at home.

He needs work, he's basically a blank slate as his previous owners did nothing with him, he has a hard time with mechanical noises. We will obviously work on these things, and give him an outlet for this Border Collie ways (aka sports).

I will see how it goes and play it by ear.

I need a name, his previous name was Code, for some reason Core is sticking in my mind.

Awww, thats awesome! I've been staring at Border Collies on breeder and the BC Ontario rescue website for over a year now, and Jimmy was always a favorite of mine. I want a Border Collie so badly, and I keep staring at Brew and Blaze on the site too I think I drive myself mentally insane wanting a dog, I'm already at a point past obsession

I really hope everything turns out well, Jimmy seems like such an awesome boy and I know he'd have a great time with you and Willow. Looking forward to pictures!

No, not a boyfriend... that's icky... he's her brother!!!

Spatx, you'll see him Tuesday then, I'll be bringing him to flyball. Did you see Buddy Aces, he's an identical twin to Willow, but he has dog issues so I can't take him. Jimmy (maybe Jovi) is awesome with her, they looked really cute side by side.

Well, she approves so far, they played together and were fine.

I'm just worried about a little jealousy and toy guarding and such. This is her house, her stuff, she may not be too good at sharing.

I must say, this is a bittersweet night. Sweet because I get the boy tomorrow, bitter because it's my last night alone with Willow, I keep thinking "this is the last time we'll do this" everytime we do something. But we'll make new routines and new habits with the three of us. Then when Mohab gets here it will be the four of us. Life is an ever changing thing.

Yes, I actually just started feeding Legacy, and I don't know what you'd want me to write.

Yes, a new addition, I'm now one of those crazy people that adopts an older dog with issues. Brave, brave, girl.

Ohh, I can't wait to meet him! I have seen Buddy Aces on the website, he's adorable but I know he wouldn't do well with Cody. I keep hoping to be able to adopt a BC soon, but it won't be for another 6 months at the least. In that time who knows what dogs will be available for adoption. I still would love a puppy, but I'm also quite driven to adopt from a rescue since so far all my dogs are rescues. I just don't know how Cody would do with an adult dog as he has some guarding issues over toys. Something I'll have to research and get some information about from trainers before we even attempt to get another dog.

Hey everyone, I picked up Jimmy.

His original name was Code, so I'm thinking Core, it seems to fit and he does perk up his ears when I call him that.

He's very toy stimulated, I'm going to have to put them all away, so far I think he's had his mouth on every single toy in the house. Willow doesn't know what to make of this, they're her toys, but she's letting him play with them just looking at me with sad eyes like "make him stop mommy, they're mine". The only time they've gotten in even a little scrap so far is when he was on the bed with a toy and she tried to take it from him.

He's sure made himself at home, on my bed, on the couch, on the chair.... he even rests on the arm of the chair, but listens when I tell him to get down.

Don't mind the mess in the pics, these were within the first 10 minutes and as you can see there are at least 10 toys out already. Geesh.

Making himself right at home:

What a cute pair:

Willow is an Australian Shepherd, Core is a Border Collie.

More pics

Here are my two reds outside:

Side by side making funny faces:

"Hey, that's my ball"

Sitting on the couch looking to the right I see....

And to the left....

My camera is going to be busy this weekend.
