Old dog lost in Kenora, Ontario area

Tucker is a small, 18 year old male Poodle-x, who is deaf, partially blind and shaky on his legs. He wandered away from the cottage on June 23, 2004. The cottage is located on Rocky Ridge Road, Clearwater Bay, Lake of the Woods, Ontario.

He may have been picked up by someone on the Trans-Canada Highway and transported to a vet / shelter in Kenora or into Winnipeg, MB.

Anyone who finds Tucker, please call (204) 772-7277. Pray we find this old dog before he succumbs to the elements.

thanks for the sentiment. I feel so helpless about this, because he's my parents' dog, and they're at the cottage looking for him, while I'm 2.5 hours west of them, and won't get down to the lake until Saturday. Then I can use my 2 dogs to try to sniff out the old boy.

Have you notified the ministry of natural resources and any park officials?

They should put posters up all along that area.

Its so sad, they must be frantic, esp since the dog is senior

Nope, haven't contacted even the Kenora vet yet, although I've contacted as many places in Winnipeg as I can think of. I'm putting an ad in the Wpg Free Press tomorrow, to pick up all the lake traffic.

And we're heading down to the lake on the weekend, with lots of posters to put up. Will call the Kenora vet then, and the Kenora humane society.

And as I said, we hope to use my 2 border collies to try to sniff him out. I'm hoping he lasts that long, and is holed up under a cottage or something in the area, and not out in this ever-lasting rain.

Hopefully someone is taking care of him until they can locate his owners. Please let us know how this turns out. My heart is aching for him and your parents. Thank you for all you're doing to help them!

Hi all

Wanted to thank you for your best wishes last summer. We ended up finding Tucker in the late fall. Rather, we found what was left of him. He had died in the bushes. So we took him home and buried him near our other gone but not forgotten dogs.
