Puppy gets car sick??
Hi there. I am Jenn. I have a 4 year old shar pei named Thai, and we have a 5 month old bulldog/jack russel mix named Tikka. I am wondering about Tikka. My question is.. what can I do to help him because we love to travel with our dogs all summer camping, etc... but Tikka cannot go from our home to the pet store without getting stomach sick... I believe he gets motions sick.. any suggestions on how to help this?? I try not to feed him before we go in the car, but this doesnt seem to be enuff. Pls help so that we can take our fur babies away this summer! Thanks

A lot of our puppies got car sick, but then grew out of it, usually by age 1.
that Tikka is the same way! Do you confine him to a crate when he's in the car? Sometimes, taking Puppy on lots of rides helps--start out with a drive around the block, then slowly increase the length of the ride. Do it as often as you can manage (though more than 3 rides a day seemed to be counterproductive for us) and you may find that Tikka eventually gets used to it. There are also anti-nausea meds your vet can recommend.
