Help me identify my Dog's breed

This is Lucy. She was a stray that we took in about five years ago. It has been estimated that she is about 12-13 years old now. She is even tempered, playful & smart. She is about 50 lbs & has (as you can see) orangish fur & floppy ears. She also has a spotted tongue. She's also very loyal & protective for such a little girl.

For a while now, I've wondered about her breeding. I have occasionally seen pictures of similar dogs (even in Dog Fancy magazine) but was not able to find out any additional info. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

Red face

I too think she is part dachshund- but her face looks so much like a golden. Can that be?

I see Beagle also , and maybe some Basenji (the body , not the face)

And there is something of a golden in her face. But she would be much bigger IMO. She's very cute !

Spotted tongue could imply a blue heeler or chow maybe? I don't see blue heeler, but possibly chow. She's cute!

I'd say beagle/lab.

As for the "black" spots, they are almost like birth marks. My first GSD had one on his tongue. And one of my sisters huskies has one on her tongue.

As for chows, they have a "purple" tongue...

Again...thank you all for the input. I've heard quite a few good suggestions. I've also heard that she resembles a dorgi (dachshund/corgi mix).

I also wanted to let you know that Lucy passed away this past weekend after a prolonged illness. She had been sick for some time and we made a decision to not allow her to suffer. She passed on with her family around her, holding her, and letting her know she was much loved.

Again, thanks for the suggestions as to her breeding. We know we can never replace her and will miss her every day.

Rob.

Hi there
The shape of the legs and feet suggest to me some Corgi / Dachshund as well but I do see lab/golden too. The beagle look in the face maybe dachshund and I dare say you have one cutie patootie there who may be from a couple of very mixed parents LOL But really really adorable.!

I agree with Luba, I see Corgi and Beagle-but definite Corgi. Cutie Patootie.

Her neck resembles Chow, which goes with the spotted tongue and the slight upward bend in her tail. Her ears have the shape of a Golden Retriever/Labador. Her legs Corgi/Dachshund, and her face looks like a Beagle.

Very cute. And from what you state her personality is, that goes with that mixture combination.

Overall, she is so cute.
