Question no exercise but???

well Maggie is finally spayed.. how ever there was a problem this morning when i took the kids to the bus..

i put her in the kitchen and put the baby gate up. she dosent fit in her kennel with her lamp shade she has to wear when i can't watch her.. well she has separation issues still.. she knocked the gate over and was loose in the house..

not a good thing she was jumping at the window. big bay window tore the plastic on it to shreds and there is a toy box there that she was in as well. i am shocked she did not hurt her self and tare any stitches.. and i mean it is a big wooden box that is taller then her shoulders. and she moved it as well and broke a hinge that holds it open.. (she was trying to get on top of it)

so now i know i can't just put her in the kitchen. so i need some advise she is not suppose to have exercise, the bus stop is a block away.. should i just take her so she dosent hurt her self at home?

oh and i do have pain medication for her she had it half hour before we had to leave. was hoping might make her relax some but i guess not..

When Dazy got fixed we were told 12 days no exercises, but we could do short leash walks...if it's a simple walk to the bus stop, at a normal pace, I dont see why not, they walk around the house right....just keep the excitment level low. I would say you could walk the block a few times a day to burn the edge off the energy, just no ball chasing or wrestling or running.

Oh, and the pain meds just masks the pain, if anything, it makes them want to go go go even more...when Dazy pulled a muscle we weren't allowed to give her pain meds cuz it made her forget the pain and want to play. Unless it's a seditive?

Just my thoughts.

thank you! she will be coming with us then (she does get excited but it would be better then hurting her self in the house some how i think) she has been passed out most of the morning sleeping. and it is a short walk..

humm but i wonder if i take her with her lamp shade on if she will stay calm. since last night when going to bed and before we left this morning she just stands there with it on and dosent want to move.. i might try that.. will give it a bit of a test tonight and see..
