He DOES have pancreatitis
I finally took Boo in. He DOES have a mild case of pancreatitis. He is on amoxicillin for now. He finally ate a little today. He is the sweetest boy and so attached to me as I am to him. He was so abused. He was put in a cage and used as a football. He was kicked in the side and had a rib broken that didn't heal properly. I finally took him and he was terrified. Lots of tender loving are finally calmed him down and he seems to feel safe now. Today was 135$ but I won't let my animals suffer.

I'm glad you brought him in, Janie! Pancreatitis is nothing to mess around with. I hope Boo is better soon!

How terrible that he was abused like that. I'm glad you have him and are taking care of him.

They did some tests but he had all the symptoms too. They just said it all pointed to pancreatitis. i know Boo so well. He's such a sensetive boy. He was hiding under the bed,not eating and wouldn't come when I called him. So,I knew something was wrong. Bonnie, our other Yorkie, just loves him and she was just frantic. She laid by the bed he was under and whined and cried. It's so sweet that she loves him so much. He was also just acting very scared and had a fever.
My poor boy. Just love him to death. |

Harley was diagnosed with having pancreastis, now, after the blood test is was shown that he did not.
I just wnt to make sure for your sake that it is not a misdiagnosis, because if you do not catch what really is happening, that spells trouble. Find ou from the vet if they did do the CPLI test, and if she did not, ask how can she be certain it is. So many illnesses have the same symptoms, Beleve me I know Harley was just diagnose VIA x ray with megaesophagus. Hell of a big step from pancreatis. Just ask for your piece of mind |

I know some tests have to come back. I think his symptoms are classic. My now deceased Mitzi had it very bad and he is showing the same symptoms. Mitzi vomited huge amount of green stuff. Boo did a bit. I thought I was going to lose Mitzi to it. I stayed up around the clock with her, giving her meds right on time. She was really, really sick. Finally, she vomited up a huge amount of green stuff and seemed to do better. Three years later, she died fro heart failure. Her heart was three times bigger then it should have been. I think the pancreatitis must have weakened her heart and enlarged it. I will forever miss her. She was so special.

Tests showed it was pancreatitis. He is doing so much better, back to my sweet hungry boy. This is the most sensetive dog I have ever had. He is terrified of children because they abused him. He just looks at me with so much love, like,"Thanks,Mom!". We are very attached to each other. I felt so bad for him when I first got him. He was only 7 months old and just quivered with fear. I wrapped him in a blanket and put him beside me every night. He finally accepted he was safe but still has fear in his eyes at times. If he gets scared,he runs and jumps in my lap, almost bowing us over. He is NOT a small yorkie.
He's my baby. |

We went through acute pancreatis with Nell about six months ago.She woke up and went straight to the water bowl drank and then threw everything up.I took her out with the other girls and she peed and seemed quiet but not really sick. When I took her back in she drank again and threw up again. This was all in about an hour.I called the vet who said they had no appointments until the next day,but call back if she seemed worse.I called back ten minutes later and said we were on our way.By the time we got there she was in so much pain I had to carry her into clinic. They took her right away put her on IV pain meds, etc etc.Three days later it was like nothing ever happened.Anyway she's been fine ever since fingers crossed.

My dog was diagnosed with Pancreatitis last month and had to stay at the vet's for 5 days with IV connected to him because he couldn't eat or drink anything. He is now on a strict diet of gastro formula dry food but I would like to feed him something else so he has some variety. The vet told me no more feeding him human food. I don't want him to go through this ever again because they say the illness could come back. I would also like to be able to make him healthy treats instead of the high fat ones they sell in pet stores.
Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated |
