Crater Lake. It was totally fogged in when we got there so we went for lunch and a hike with the dog and eventually the sun began to break through . It was spectacular .

Nice job. Is that the coastal highway in one of those pics?

I've been to Washington and California lots but Oregon only once. . . . when I was in Grade 5 in 1968!!!

Looks like a beautiful place.

Yes, that's it. Definately not the road to travel if you want to make time but has some amazing scenery.

This was the first time there for both hubby and myself. With the good $ exchange and the cheaper gas we figured it was finally time .

I like roads like that.

Carol and I took three or four days to travel the coastal highway between San Francisco, through Monterrey and Big Sur, to LA a few years ago. . . . . the same trip would have been about four or five hours on the freeway I think.

So . . . . I'd take the winding two-lane and take my time.

We've thought of doing that from San Francisco to Seattle, through Oregon, then flying home.
