How much satin balls?

I linked a friend of mine a bunch of info on satin balls for her underweight Boxer, but neither one of us can find how much you are supposed to feed?!?!
So... whats the "rule" of thumb for this one???

With Lucky, I started with just one golf ball-sized per day for about 2-3 days (they're quite rich). When I knew he'd digest them well, I added another for a few more days and then up to three per day until I noted an increase in weight. If your friend is feeding kibble, she ought to feed the satin balls about 3-4 hours prior to the dog's meal.

I also add an extra 1/2 cup of wet food (and some warm water) above the recommended amount of kibble for Lucky. He always finishes off his bowl when I've prepared it this way.
