Hi Allymack

If the eye is known to be watery on and off it might be one of several things. Your pup may have long eyelashes that are tilting back inward on the eye-check it out. Also there may be irregularities or small growths (tags) that are irritating the cornea and sclera. If it continues to be a problem have the Vet inspect it for problems. Another reason for a watery eye is a scratch-mud,sticks,toys can scratch the cornea causing erosions on the surface which are painful and do cause watery drainage. The other thing would be possible environmental allergies. You would think it would affect both eyes but not always.

If the eye is infected you will see yellowish/grenish thick drainage balls below the lid. You will also notice crusting along the eye. The sclera will appear angry and red. The dog will experience discomfort and will probably be pawing at it. In order to be properly diagnosed and receive treatment you need to take the pup to the Vet.

Allymack ~ tell the truth now...have you been keeping up with the housework?

Seriously, if I get behind in my dusting, vacuuming or de-furring the bed, which in my house is like ONE DAY ~ one of Bridie's eye get's major icky goobers and is watery.
