Unhappy Don't know whether to laugh or cry

In case you haven't followed the saga: My beloved BooBoo  went to the Rainbow Bridge on April 16. I wanted to have a special marker for him, and so I decided on a memorial from www.memoriesengraved.net.

All was well until about 2 weeks ago as I eagerly waited for his memorial to arrive. The owner said expect it at "your door within 3-5 weeks."
Day after day, nothing. Countless emails and phone calls later, I'm still waiting. It's now over 5 weeks and still no memorial. He has written several times and said he was sorry for the delay, but to let him know when I received the memorial - it would be worth the wait.

What I am now trying to do is to get him to pay attention to my email that says the shipping company, Purolator, has a valid shipping label from him - but it has the wrong state (New York instead of Washington state). The rep from Purolator said that the zip was correct, and that is what they rely on for shipping so there shouldn't be a problem getting it to the right place.

HOWEVER - and this is the laugh or cry part - he has NOT shipped the memorial yet - and he doesn't know it!!!!!!!!!!!!! While he's telling me to let him know how I like the memorial after I receive it, I'm trying to get him to pay attention to me and realize that he hasn't even shipped it yet. My last email had lots of red, underlined words hoping that he would somehow notice my email over others.

Everyone that I've dealt with through BooBoo's passing has been so nice, this has just left me feeling frustrated and sad. I don't think the guy is trying to stick me - I think he's just a very poor businessman, and I have to pay the price for being naive.

I spent a lot of time figuring just what I wanted to put on the memorial, and everyone in the family thought it was absolutely right and totally fitting our guy, but now I don't know if I'm ever going to see it  I think I will, but my high expectations have pretty much crumbled. I'll wait a while longer. Then I guess I'm going to have to try to get my money back and go someplace else.

Buyer beware - double check on all memorial places. I wish I had.

Oh, that must be so frustrating!

I got my old dog's grave marker from a local place that does human headstones, they had done ones for pets in the past, and had a whole binder showing animal themed engravings you could get on the stone.

It took forever for the stone to get to where we had our dog buried. We had to choose what we wanted on it, then we had to wait, and the lady sent the design request to the engravers, and then she received a couple of drawings of how it could look and we chose one, and then she had to submit that, and then they had to make the headstone, and then ship it...yeah it took absolutely forever, but we got it okay, so just hang in there!

That is terrible!!!! Good luck in getting your memorial marker. I would be tempted to send him a registered letter, telling him he has x # of days to have the marker shipped (to the right address!!!!!). At least you will have documented proof that you have tried to contact him.

FINALLY!!!!:

The owner of the business called just a few minutes ago and said that the shipment returned to his business when his driver realized the mistake in the address. He said he would gladly refund my money because he understood my frustration.

I told him that as long as the memorial is shipped tomorrow and he gives me a new tracking number, that it would be okay.

Maybe next week I'll finally have his memorial home! Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Geeze, how frustrating this all has been for you. I hope it is all finally straightened out and that you receive the memorial soon.
