Shiba Inu for adoption in Mississauga

Astro is a Shiba Inu, male, 4 years old. He came to us on April 8, 04. His owner left him in a field with his food, and a leash. After bringing him back to our shelter he was extremely scared. Onlookers informed us that he sat in that field for 4 hours before we were notified. We think Astro deserves a better home then the last. He is an energetic little boy who would best be placed in a home without children.

Unfortunately, many people buy Shibas without knowing how much work they are. They seem small and cute, but they are not easy (don't I know it! LOL!!)

Anyhow, Deerclan, you may want to contact the local Shiba rescue for this boy since they will provide him with a foster home and know how to properly screen prospective adopters. I don't know the Ontario Shiba Rescue but I will give you links to the BC Rescue (I believe they work with the other provinces and could direct you to the proper people) and the National Shiba Rescue which covers North America:

Good luck to this poor little soul!!

Michelle

Edited to say - BTW, in no way am I implying that you can not or will not properly place this poor boy but it is my understanding the the breed specific rescues have an easier time of it, especially since people looking for a certain breed tend to check with them first !

They are beautiful. There is one in our dog obedience class very stunning looking dog. I can tell though they take an experienced owner to train them.
