Question Dog Urine Resistant Ground Cover?

I am setting up my front yard rock garden and am setting aside space for a little patch of ground cover that will withstand my dog urinating on it. I definitely do not want lawn but am looking for suggestions for hardy ground cover that does not grow higher than apx. 2". Someone suggested Irish moss and some have already died since I planted them due to my dog.

I live in California and the area is cover with morning and partial afternoon sun.

Whatever you can recommend would be great.

Thank you, Rose

Hi - I'm not sure if any plants are really resistant to urine but how about some low growing thyme? I have a big patch in my garden and one of my dogs loves to lie on it - she also smells wonderful after

It is fairly flat and some have pretty pink or white flowers. I was going to experiment and plant it in place of some grass to see what happens. I think it can withstand being trampled but not sure about the urine?
