Talking Helix's Easter adventures! *New Pics*

We were out at my parent's farm this Easter weekend, as well as at my sister's house. Helix had a blast- my sister has two pugs and my parents have a pug, yorkie poo and a blue heeler mix (outside dog). He played the whole weekend and was super tired when we went home! He also may have learned a very naughty behaviour from my sister's unneutered male pug All they did was hump each other! Hopefully neutering Helix next month will curtail that ...

Playing with Axel!

One of Helix's eyes is always red in pictures- it's his true blue eye. The other eye is actually a parti eye and has a bit of brown in it. For some reason it rarely shows up red.

And just for some variety:

My mom's yorkie-poo, Phoebe (she weighs about 3.5 lbs!)

And another of my cat Ella, showing off her fancy new nails!

I just love Helix pictures. Never see enough of him. Cram you really must post more frequent pics of Helix.
He is so cute.

He is so beautiful! One reason dog's hump is to show domination. Hopefully that's what it was about. When we got our male puppy he humped our older dog constantly. I thought he was waaaay to young to be doing that, but someone explained about the dominance. After we got him fixed though, the behavior mostly stopped. Every now and then he gets a notion, but it's rare. Anyway, sorry about the ramble. But he is beautiful. How old is he?

Aww, Helix is just so cute . Watch out for the humping behavior, it is a dominance thing. Puppies need to learn that is unacceptable play behavior as well though or they grow up to be those irritating types who hump every dog they meet. When Riley would start to do that I would just make my "no-no" noise and give him a quick time out from playing.

Hey are those the little rubber nails you put on your cat so they don't scratch your furniture? I always wondered if they worked.

And Helix is adorable, the bridge pic is so cute.

Thanks everyone! I'll try to post more pictures of Helix in the future

Those are the rubber nails for cats (you can get them for dogs too). Ella, in the picture, totally ignored that they were there and they didn't affect her at all. She gradually lost them over the course of 2-3 weeks or so, but I've found most of them so I can reuse them. Sam, my other cat, didn't really like them as much. She would sit and try to pull them off her nails and lost hers pretty fast as a result. But I've only put them on once so far, and I'm going to try again this week. Ella needs to be wrapped in a blanket and held down so I can cut her nails and get them on her, but Sam can just be restrained a bit (neither of them enjoy it though!). They definitely help prevent scratching on the furniture. We got them mostly to protect Helix's eyes!

I really enjoyed your pics, Cram, and your Helix is a real beauty!
I was trying to determine what breed he was? He's sure a sweetie.

Sorry! He's an Alaskan Klee Kai. He's just over 5 months old now, and we don't expect him to get much bigger- about an inch or so taller and he'll put on a little weight (he's 9 lbs now, he'll probably end up being 12 or 13 lbs).

OK, I couldn't resist a few more pics. These are when he was a bit younger, so you can see how much he's grown up!

Great pix Cram. It's funny to see what looks like a young Husky the same size as a Pug tho ! I guess he and the kitty will be about the same size when Helix is fully grown. No wonder you need the rubber tips !

LOL! He's a bit taller than the kitties, but doesn't weigh as much. They've made so much progress in their "relationship" though. Ella, my grey fluffy girl, is my psycho kitty, but for some reason, she doesn't try to fight with Helix anymore, she just runs away. She'll even sleep on the bed with him in the mornings (on the opposite side of me of course). Sam, the more mellow one, will actually chase him if she gets annoyed with him- he knows to avoid her!

He's definitely a show stopper though! People stop to ask about him all the time because not many people have seen his breed before. The greatest is meeting any big fluffy grey huskies on a walk- they look so cute side by side!
