Dogsledding competition thats going on here.

Here are a few pics from the dogsledding races happening here, I only managed to get a few, huge turn out I must say, hard to snap pics. Gonna head out early tomorrow morning and get some good ones. I missed skijoring that was just way too early for me. I only got some of the 4 dog races this morning then I had to head out and run some errands.
I have to say these are some of the funkyest looking dogs I have seen. Such interesting varieties.

A litter of youngens just getting a handle on the commotion that goes on at these things. They were adorable.

And some from the truck next to the youngsters.

No idea what breeds they were, there was one team that was houndish, husky, greyhound looking while there was another who was Border Collie like. There was two teams with purebred siberians and another with Alaskan huskies. Sled dogs are all mixed breeds.

Heres some more pictures. I think i've been officially bitten by the " bug" I was so amazed with this sport.

Something happened on the trail to this dog, im not sure what, but the lady carried him ( or her) back. Once she passed the finish line she put the dog down and it walked fine, I guess it just got over tired.

A team returning after the 4.5 mile run.

A skijoring team heading out. ( I think this is the team where one was carried back in , im not sure)

One of the funky looking dogs. ( sorry if the pic is as huge as I think it might be)

Some more getting hitched back up to the truck.

Another dog pic, quite skinny looking if you ask me, but they all were like that.

Great pics! I love the one with the two huskies and skier... That must be fun.

I hope all the doggies got nice treats (and nicely treated ) after the race.
