Greenish pee?
I know, go to the vet
Maggie had an accident this morning, only the second she ever had since she was a tiny puppy, the other one was a couple of weeks ago. Its possible that some dye from a cardboard box that was lying in the pee "melted" but the pee had a definate greenish tint to it. We had already decided this week was going to be it for having her PTS. Maggie is almost 15, chow/husky, blind, arthritic & somewhat deaf & senile. She`s been failing for quite awhile and honestly we probably have waited too long. I`m going to have the vet check her over first, but doubt they will have any wonderful ideas to give her back some quality of life. She`s not been poisened or eaten anything unusual or acting off, so I`m not in a hurry to get her in today to find out what the color could be from. Just thought it was unusual enough I would ask if anyone had any ideas. If I sound kind of flippant, I`m not, its just  doesn`t seem to say enough and if I did go into everything I would be bawling & writing a novel. thanks |

Aww, so sorry about your old girl  . Perhaps she is just not digesting very well and it is colouring her urine. Kinda like when people eat beets or asparagus?

No dyed cookies, I`m guessing some sort of digestion issue.
I`m thinking its maybe a kick in the butt so I don`t delay taking her in this week as I`d planned. I just don`t have it scheduled yet cause I`m waiting to hear when a friend can go with me. Hubby says he can`t be there, son decides he doesn`t believe in any sort of euthanasia, so that leaves me with the 10yo daughter who won`t let her friend go to the bridge alone, but I want some adult help for lifting our big girl in & out of the van. Since its a new vet to us, I doubt I`ll have the option to have them come out to the van for the shot, especially since I do want her to be looked over first. Thanks |

I'm very sorry about your dog. Just a couple things...Are you sure her pee is green? You mentioned it might be dye from the box. An easy way to check would be to catch some on a white piece of paper or cloth as she is going, next time you take her out. If you decide to go ahead with euthanasia, you might ask the vet if they can do it at your house. Some do make house calls for that nowadays.
