Talking Best Friends
I couldn't be more ecstatic! I got this kitten to keep my darling shih-tzu, Stella, company during the day. They have become wonderful friends and will not leave one another's side!

She has her days...her eye seems to flare up every 4 or 5 days or so, despite putting the ointment in it twice a day. I'm kinda wondering if she may have the herpes virus. Whatever it is, we love her to death and are willing to help her through her sicknesses. She is eating well and is very playful. If only she would pee in the litter box consistently! Oh, I weighed her yesterday and she weighs over a pound and a half...yeah! Now she can get the full dose of deworming along with her first set of shots on friday!

If you are putting ointament in the eyes be very careful of bright lights for the kitty. I had the same problem with Sunny Bono as when she came to us she has a severe infected eyes. When taken to the vets he put her on drops (for love or money can't think of the name). She was about 6 wks. For a year or so she got the infection on and off. Eventually Sunny went blind. But on looking up meds they all had warnings about the bright lights.

Bright lights, really? Our lights are usually pretty dim except for the sunshine that comes in during the day. During the day she is kept in the bathroom that has little light. The ointment is Terramycin, does that ring a bell? Thanks for the info, too bad the medication didn't come with any information

Lucy is about 11 weeks old...but she's tiny. She was the runt of the litter and even now she only weighs a pound and a half! But, despite her small stature, her heart is huge as she is extremely affectionate and insists on sleeping between my head and shoulders instead of on my lap!
