Hopeful, the cat that wouldn't give up.

First, and foremost, I want to say that I will not be too detailed in this story.

1. There may be young children reading
2. It still makes me very upset remembering this

Thank you
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Around ten years ago, I happened to meet a handsome little kitten called Hopeful in a pet-store.

He was what is called a blue point siamese, and his unusual coloration made people detour from buying him, thinking he was a mixed breed.

If I never bought him, he never would have made it to his first birthday.

He was very cute, and very active, which was what first caught my attention. Little did I know, that he was going to be a prized stud cat later in life who sired numerous prize winning offspring [but that is beyond the point of this story].

Not long after I got Hopeful, I ended up with pneumonia in both my lungs. The doctors and nurses were always hanging around my bed for the longest time.

Finally, my parents were able to get them to agree to allow Hopeful into my room. He was just a little baby then, but he knew something was not right, and he'd lie on my bed, purring softly eyes half closed and completely at ease.

Not even a cat hating nurse could get him to move.

Over the years, Hopeful got old, and he got slower.

And this finally caught up with him, in January of this year.

For not long after my birthday January 1st, Hopeful was run over by a druck driver who skidded into our driveway and struck the cat. He always lies about a foot from the back tire of the van. At this point, I am living with my cousin and his wife

His hind-legs and his right fore-leg were broken, his spine fractured. The doctor said that his life could be saved, and that he could live like a "normal" cat... but it would cost A LOT of money...

I didn't care, and neither did my cousin.

It took around $8,000-$10,000 to have the surgery needed to save his life. It took 3 surgeries to get it right.

I never gave up hope on him, because I have known this cat since I was a little child, when I had He never left my side, and I was not about to do the same. It took four months for him to be released back home, and now he just kind of hangs out in the living room. Still happy though

I think... like many pet owners with close pets.

That I'd do anything for Hopeful.

Never questioned the $...

The vet was good, and I wasn't about to cheapsake Hopeful for somebody that wanted less.

NO PICTURES, SORRY.

Hopeful is a 10 year old blue point siamese cat. Near January 1st, this year, he was run over and his hind-legs, his right fore-leg broken, and his spine fractured. Around $10,000 later, he is back to the "normal" cat he used to be. I saved him, because many years ago, he saved me.

Tulip, Hopeful's 3 year old daughter, fixed blue point siamese.
Rex, is Hopeful's 3 year old unfixed lilac point siamese son.

Spirit, is a white Boxer who was born deaf, and is now blind for he was originally used as a fighting dog. Got him 3 months ago, he is 3 years.

Queen, is a pure-bred red/white Border Collie. She is 6 years old. She helps round up llamas on a 212 acre ranch in Colorado

Shelcka is a Mustang. Her mother was killed by foolish kids when Shelcka was a baby, and I ended up with her. She is solid black with a flaxen mane and tail. 3 years old.
