Yummy treat!

Rosco just loves chicken feet! Although he can gulp them down very quickly, he'll take his time with them, give them a few chomps, and more or less savor them for 10-15min. Fun to watch! They're also an excellent source of Glucosamine and Chondroitin.

scott do you serve them frozen?...

pretty creepy-funny to see doggy chew on a fresh chicken foot, sometimes you get the toes curling in and out cuz of the tendons, LOL!! (and no the claws are not sharp, they're quite soft and pliable actually - for those who are curious).

Thanks all

Techno, with 3 cats in the house as well, I'm actually suprised there are no fur balls in the pics (other then Rosco )!

Oh, and for cost, it was $2.99 for a bag. There was around 10 feet in the bag. I get it through my regular supplier.

Do you feed them to them raw, or cook them? What about the bones, is the old tale about chicken bones being dangerous for dogs not true?

Willow is on kibble, so if I gave her these raw would it hurt her? Should I cook them?

Nice, cheap, healthy, treat idea.

I love your boy too. He's sooooo beautiful!

bones from any animal should always be fed raw, never cooked as this alters their chemical composition and renders them brittle, indigestible and prone to splintering. raw chicken bones are perfectly safe to feed to our cats and dogs and are in fact super-healthy!

Roscoe is one handsome boy! I never thought of chicken feets as treats, either. I'm sure my hounds would love 'em (and my husband will be amused by the "active" feet while I'm grossed out, of course. ). I'll have to look for some feet somewhere. And, wow, 30 cents a foot is great! I usually pay about 1.50 per beef marrow bone and consider that a good price.

what is roscoe's anticipated adult weight? based on lineage and his father's weight - he's a bullmastiff, right? what is their standard for adult males?

Well, for males, the breed standard is 110-130lbs. That said, his father was about 138lbs when Rosco was born. His mother is around 110lbs I believe give or take.

Here is a picture of his dad. I'm sure you can see the resemblance

wow hims beautiful! what a HEAD! he could chomp through whole turkeys in one sitting I have no doubt that Roscoe will be as big as his dad, if not bigger. he still will mature and gain weight until he is 3 or 4 years old, imagine

ps: i might be biased but IMO Roscoe is more handsome than his dad
