Shamu attacts trainer
SAN DIEGO (AP) - Shamu's tank mate a killer whale injured a trainer during a show at SeaWorld Adventure Park by grabbing his foot and twice pulling him underwater, authorities said.
Why do people insist on making these animals perform for the crowd. I know the percentage of trainers that get hurt by their animals (elephants, lions, etc.) is small in comparison to the number of performing animals, but what will it take to stop this crazy world from wanting to see animal acts such as this or Zigfried and Roy and all the countless others. Headline should read attacks, not attacts, what was I thinking

The sad fact is that most people just don't care about things that don't touch them in some way. By having killer whales (and other sea animals) on display and interactive with people brings them closer to people who can then do what they can to help stop the slaughter of these animals in the wild.
However, one must remember that these animals are WILD animals.
