Pork Chewz?

I found some "Pork Chewz" at the store today. The bag says that they are safer than rawhide, made from "only premium quality oven roasted pork skin", and of course "Veterinarian's Choice". I have watched Sydney very carefully with one, and it doesn't seem any safer than rawhide to me, perhaps even worse, because of the size of the pieces of skin that are used. I had to get several pieces out of her mouth, then just took it away. Anyone know if the chunks of pig skin are generally safer than chunks of rawhide? She absolutely loved it, and I would hate to deprive her if it is safe.

I thought pigskin was worse because it can carry certain types of bacteria, but maybe I'm completely mistaken. Hopefully someone can clarify.

I dunno whether it's a worse chewing hazard or not than rawhide, they can both cause problems if too big a piece is swallowed.

I agree with MBIE as I've heard the same thing.

Here's another thread where we discussed pig ears, rawhide and other "edibles":
