New!
I had a question about our two Golden Retrievers. We rescued them 5 months ago but we're finding we don't have enough yard room for them, and can only walk them once a day. They seem bored, and we found a family that will take them and love them. I guess I just need reassurance that we're doing the right thing. We really care for the dogs but want what's best for them. Is relinquishing your dogs after five months awful?

Regardless of what WE think, you should contact the rescue FIRST before placing them in a new home yourself. Most shelters & rescues have rules about this - if for any reason you cannot keep the animal(s), they must be returned to said shelter/rescue. if you signed a contract when you adopted, please re-read it.

I agree with Jessi, please contact the rescue first.

IF it's a rescue, yes, give the dogs back to them. But if it's a high kill shelter, better give the dogs to the family (only if you are sure they will take good care of the dogs) or call a rescue.
