Fleas On Nursing Mom

Hi i was wondering if anyone had advise I have found a few fleas on Bella and a few on her babies. thought, Id ask here first for any suggestions as i no shes nursing and the babies are only 2 weeks old. So flea baths are out. I want to get a grip on it now before it gets out of control. I have been going through and picking out the ones i see and keeping the bedding clean. any suggestions would be appreciated as i have never had this problem.

I know most cats won't allow you to deep immerse them, but the kittens would probably allow you do bathe them in a tub full of warm water--and fleas will be drowned in water. And if your cat will allow it, it's a surefire way to get the bugs off her too. About 2 minutes immersed is the minimum. Might add a some dish detergent and a cup (or two) of vinegar to the water. Vinegar is one of those miracle substances that do so many wonderful things.

Big thing is to vacuum every day for several weeks. Fleas, larvae, and eggs can live in the carpeting, cat's bedding (and your's too,) and on open hard surfaces in dust for weeks.

Advantage (which you get from vets) is completely safe to put on nursing moms. Just don't put any on the babies and do a really really good vacuuming as well.

thanks ur right I'll check with vet the puppies are only 2 weeks old. So the vets probably the way to go. thanks again
