Animal Abuse in Cabell, WV

I saw this on the news last night, I can't believe that some people have no conscience. The lady in the news report is facing 13 counts of animal cruelty, and from what I hear is facing up to 16 years in jail. The magistrate that was in charge of choosing what the woman's bail will be, is also a volunteer at the Huntington-Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter, where the dogs are now up for adoption. This is a sad story and I just wanted to share it with you guys so that you could see that horrible people come in many ages.

Try this link. I'm wondering if senility isn't playing a part here.

I don't know about senility, but I think there is a history of law breaking. right at the end it was mentioned she will be extradited to face bad check charges.

If she can't respect other people why would she be expected to respect animals? Some people make me sick

It's possible, but I've known plenty of older people that just don't care.
Being old doesn't make you a good person.

Not that I believe an 86yr old will get 16 yrs jail, but I am pleased to see that there are states that take animal-abuse seriously, for the terrible crime it is:sad:
Unlike Ontario,Canada,or probably all of Canada

I tried to find the story but couldn't. Maybe it's just as well. I had surgery on my nose and it really hurts to cry.

I can not stand it when I realize how hard and calloused humans can be.

Last night I volunteered some time to sit with the homeless. Our church sponsors a group called Interfaith. They house and feed homeless families in churches for a week at a time, and then they move on to another church. And they have to meet requirements, take courses, hold jobs, take parenting classes, agree to have a third party oversee their finances, stay sober, abide by curfews etc.

Anyway, not meaning to thread jack, but some of the stories I heard last night broke my heart. Innocent children, animals, there is so much going on in the world that makes me wonder how we've become so unfeeling !

I hope she does do jail time. I have no sympathy for her regardless of her age.
