George Bush, Not Again...

Now I don't generally bring up political threads, but this one definitely needs to be mentioned. I'll say this, I'm not crazy about the man, but that's my opinion and I don't care to make this a political debate. With that said, yes this is funny, but come on, you are the "leader of the free world", show some tact. You need to be on your best behavior at all times!!!

lol that was pretty good. I swear a lot, but there definitely is a time and a place for everything.

I love the clips david letterman has on his show usually. They're hilarious.

Don't you love him spitting and food practically falling out of his mouth along with the swearing?

I too drop my share of bombs when I talk, but there are times when you really need to be more aware of your surroundings and this man doesn't seem to have a clue about this concept since he does this stuff all the time!

you could have stopped at "this man doesn't have a clue" he is a major threat to world peace, an insult to politics and if you want to know the reason he's such an idiot: http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=18544

Did you ever see Will Ferrell's impression of "W" on Saturday Night Live? They are the best, if you have think strategery.

Here's the main idea, Jesse's Mommy:
The german guy is basically saying that he sits in the "head pit" of W and pulls levers and things to move him around (you see him testing the eye movements and tongue movements). But one day W was in an elementary school and he decided to take a coffee break and an important message came in but he didn't get it until much later, so he didn't pull the levers and things to make Bush react properly. He also goes on to say the people he works with are cool, like the guy who's inside Tony Blair's head.

I know we have alot of Americans friends here, and I wouldn't want to offend anyone, but holy hell, my cats have more brain power than this dolt. How did he manage to get re elected. It's a good thing he can only serve 2 terms. I watched a couple other Bush videos on the google video site, too funny. I guess one thing can be said for his time as president, it is providing years of clips and soundbites for comedic purposes.

No offense taken here!

I don't want to make too many comments on how I personally feel about him because I don't want to turn this into a political debate, but I really can't stand him. He's turned this country upsidedown. OK, that's enough I'm about to start on my "W" rampage.

frow the Urban Dictionary... definitions of "dubya"

In your opinion . . . . .

I supported the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq at the time and continue to do so today . . . . . however, I never would have voted for GW Bush in either election in the first place if I had the opportunity, primarily because I disagree with his economic and social policies. I like to see America projecting its power and pushing democracy globally though.

I'd also add that certain people may not have ideas you or I might agree with, but that doesn't necessarily point to any lack of intelligence . . . . . it just means their life to this point has had different influences than mine, causing different conclusions than my own when presented with the same facts. That is where debate comes from.

I'll give you an example . . . . . there are certainly left-wing oriented people on this board whom I might consider illiterate dolts if I applied the same standard of judgement to them as many happily apply to GW Bush.

I love semantic debates.

Umm... I don't think she was referring to his policies at all, as much as his manner of speaking (or fumbling over his words). I think this was really a superficial thread, Rick. He could be left or right, but still be looking like a moron up there on the stage.

Very funny responses! I saw that "groping" video this morning...that man has no sense of social grace whatsoever. Or maybe I could stop after "that man has no sense" and leave it at that!

I don't think you all are going to offend us Americans...we're not all idiots voting for GW. He stole the first election, and I swear cheated on the second. I want to believe he cheated because otherwise this country should really start employing Survival of the Fittest techniques, such as removing the warning tags on hair dryers and pillowcases.

Have you all seen the statistics on IQ level correlated with the red and blue states voting outcome? The lowest IQs were in the red states that voted for Bush. What a shock!

hahahahaha....don't even get me started.

Well then, in the superficial spirit of the thread, you'll probably find this opinion piece in the LA Times today somewhat amusing, titled: Jonathan Chait: Is Bush Still Too Dumb to Be President? You can't run a country on horse sense.

Yes, like Prin said, I was definitely NOT referring to his policies when I made my "dolt" comment (although he is vetoing stem cell research as we speak), purely superficial based on his complete lack of social grace, proper grammar, and all round inability to string a sentence together

Don't get me wrong . . . . . I find the whole thing kind of humourous and I'm just sticking a needle in with a bit of a smile on my face.

I'm just pointing out the general irony of the left wing (not you specifically), the self-described champion of the downtrodden and the helpless, persistently mocking someone for the way they talk.

Have you all seen the statistics on IQ level correlated with the red and blue states voting outcome? The lowest IQs were in the red states that voted for Bush. What a shock!

Interestingly, in Canada, the focal point of right wing politics is Calgary which has the highest per capita university and post-secondary graduates in its population in the country and the highest library usage per capita as well. . . . . in other words, the best educated and most well read population votes overwhelmingly right wing.

I think GW Bush though, has a certain staple reliance on the religious vote . . . . and that would be a non-starter for me right off the hop. The separation of church and state is paramount in any country I want to live in. I'm not an atheist but I'm not a fan of organized religion.

Ah...another myth that is busted.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/ballot/stateiq.asp

I'm not a GW fan, so as much as I would love for that to be true, it isn't. Although it would be an interesting sociology experiment for a grad. student. In the US, the large cities with a higher percentage of college degrees (Seattle, San Francisco, LA, Chicago, Boston, New York, etc) tend to be liberal. However, places like Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, etc have plenty of smart people and they tend to vote conservative. Anyway...it would be a cool experiment.

When somebody has access to all the money in the world and all the help in the world, there is no reason for speech impediments or lack of education. Where are the speech coaches? Where are the etiquette and decorum coaches?

I think the left doesn't pity this guy because he has everything at his disposal and does nothing productive with it (for himself, I mean).

Hey, I would mock anyone in a position like his, left or right, if every time they opened their mouth they sounded as though they hadn't been properly edumacated. The southern accent is charming, it's the words coming out that are not.

It will be interesting to see how this changes or if it changes, as Calgary's population and demographics continue to change due to extensive migration.
I do have to disagree a little bit though. Having lived for 18 of my years in Calgary, and spending the last 5 of those involved in political campaigns, I have noticed that the wealthiest and most educated neighbourhoods in Calgary DO NOT lean right. It is the lower middle and middle middle classes that vote right. Mount Royal, Scarboro, Garrison Woods, Pump Hill, Signal Hill, etc etc are much more leftist than their poorer counterparts.
