Vitiligo

I would greatly appreciate any and all information about Vitiligo, sometimes also called Piebald, such as causes, treatments (if any), where the change of hair color and loss of pigmentation begins, etc. I've fostered a Rottweiler with the most severe case of Vitiligo I'd ever seen, but questions have come up recently and, to be honest, I want to make sure the information I remember is correct. Thanks!

I can post a picture of the Rottweiler I fostered if you'd like.
