I am an Aunt again!!
Whoo Hoo!!
My bf's brother and his wife just had a baby boy yesterday! I can't wait to see him. We are going over there for a short time today. I also wanted to share something with all of you that I do for family/friends when they have a baby. I make a ton of mini-caseroles! I buy foil loaf pans from the store, and make a variety of my favorite meals, and I pack one serving in each loaf pan. Then I freeze them and give them as a gift. Then when they are busy, they just pull one out and pop in the oven, or they pop it out of the foil (which is easy when frozen) and microwave it. This time I made my "stuffed green pepper" filling (I don't use it to stuff peppers, I just eat it on it's own) in half of the caseroles, and the other half are baked ziti pasta. MMmm...and the best part is I get all the leftovers!!

Congrats Auntie Raingirl! Odin has a cousin!!!!
That's such a great idea to do with the casseroles. What I've done in the past is make fruit bouquet. I'll get a bunch of fruit and make cutouts of flowers in the fruit with cookie cutters. I get a little basket and put a head of lettuce in it and put the flowers onto wood skewers and put it in the lettuce. I also take strawberries and cut out the stems and fill it with either flavored whip cream or the fruit dipping yogurt spread. I figure it's a good snack to pull out for company when people come over to see the baby. This way there is really no need for feeling like you have to be a good host when trying to take care of a new baby and also it's very easy to clean up. By the way, what is the baby's name? How long was he? How much did he weigh? Was it an easy birth? Obviously mom and baby are well! You forgot all the details!!!

His name is Liam Alexander. Don't know the wieght/length stuff, but he was on the small side (6lbs plus some odd ozs).
He is so tiny and cute though. A little hairy as well. Birth was fine. So far he is well. Eats, sleeps, cries, eats, sleeps, cries...etc, etc.
