Homemade liver treats?

Has anyone here ever tried making dried liver chews? Halo loves to chew on rawhide, but it's junk. Could you just stick liver in the oven (low) to dry and make dry chewies? Could it be that simple?? Please.

Any ideas?

That's sounds like it would smell very yucky, but my thoughts are....try it with a small amount. I doubt your dogs will mind eating it, even if it doesn't come out like rawhide. Maybe use a dehydrator?

Well one of the dogs will eat it for sure! We have a gas oven and I'm leery of leaving it on for half a day, so I think I will look for a dehydrator at the swap meet soon. I could plug it in outside so as not to stink up the house! Thanks for the reply.
