I'm so mad at my Dad

I shouldnt even call him Dad.
He never really been in my life, he calls me at least 3-4 times a year. So guess what he calls me today and he got a 3 month black lab a month ago now he wants to know if I know anybody that wants a dog!

Jeeze he cant even be a dad to a dog!!!!

So anybody want a black lab....

Well actually after going through this forum (such a great help by the way!!!), I am just gonna phone him tomorrow and tell him to bring the pup to the SPCA, right?! I am sure the pup will be grab right away.

Jeeze!!!! His reason was that he and his g/f works all day and he/she is a alone all day and is a handleful!! Well ya shoulda thought of that before DUMMY!!

I feel so bad for pup, cuz I know how it feels not to have a dad that doesnt care enough!!

Yeah, but with labs, the trouble at the SPCA is that they won't screen, so this doggy is likely to chew his way through a couple of homes before either finding a permanent home or being put down (depending on how lucky he is). I would find a rescue rather than the SPCA. Your dad sucks, IMO...

awww, man that sucks!!! I agree that a rescue is a MUCH better idea than the SPCA. Rescues screen the futur homes whereas the SPCA, anyone with $$ can buy him and beat the crap out of him.

If you are in the Maritimes, there is a lab rescue here - I just discovered it myself. http://www.labrescuens.com/index.html

Here are a few good reputable multi-breed rescues in the montreal area :

animatch : http://www.animatch.ca/

Rosie's : http://www.rosieanimaladoption.org/

Sophie's : http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com

Gerdy's : http://www.gerdysrescue.org

That's just to name a few -- you'll have to write to each and see if they have room for an extra pooch. Good luck and keep us posted!
