Dos and don'ts after neutering?

Should I take any precautions after neutering him?

He's a high energy dog so he's going to want to run which I'm guessing is a no no. Will it be ok to walk him?

Walking definetly, they are not supposed to run because it may rip the stiches. They will also give you a cone, and I reccomend you use it when you do not have him on the leash for the first couple days. Keep an eye out for swelling and discolouration. Harley was done at 11 months, he had an infection, but it cleared with antibiotics. He will be fine, when is he going in ???

No jumping, no getting wet, no licking, and no making your dad feel guilty for making the right decision.

Oh I'm feeling guilty already. Giving myself an ulcer worrying about him. He goes in next week Thursday...7 days from now.

Going to be hard trying to stop him from running. When he doesn't get enough exercise (less than 1hr jogging or 2 hrs walking) he does laps around the house.

we had Tucker done almost 2 months ago. My vet's policy is to keep an animal for the night following a spay or neuter surgery... and we were looking forward to it. (not that we don't love him to pieces, but one night without incident sounded nice) nope, didn't happen. Just as we sat down to a nice romantic dinner, the vet called. I answered the phone frantically, thinking the worst, just to hear "Tucker is fine, in fact, he's so FINE he wants to go home, PLEASE COME GET HIM." I could hear the basenji-baroooooooo in the background.

as soon as we got home, we were outside every 5 minutes with him. he kept thinking he had to poop, but didn't. it was odd. but the next day he was fine.

Zeus will be fine. (it is zeus, right?) My dog is a chewer so we just stocked up on bones and hoofes to keep him quiet for a few days.

No showing him any doggy porn, because, well, that'd just be mean!
