How many feedings a day?
When Shadow was on medication she needed to be fed 3 times a day. (1 cup each time) She is no longer on medication but seems to be starving in the morning. She cries and I think she needs to go out but she runs straight to the kitchen. This is at 5-6am quite regularly.
Any suggestions? She is an 8 year old German Shephard X I was thinking maybe feed her 2 cups in the morning none at lunch and 1 cup before bed? Thanks |

Why not three meals a day? I know it's kind of inconvenient... But sure, I'd feed her 2/3 in the morning and then 1/3 in the evening. That way she has some in her belly all day.

My 9 year old GSD gets fed 3x's a day.
Prin, cover Boo and Jemmas ears for this...LOL Tron gets a can in the early am,then a can for lunch, then he gets one for dinner. His dry is left out for him to snack on.He never wolfs down the dry, just nibbles... ..He is not overweight, and aside from a bit of arthritis,he is very healthy...I have always fed my dogs like this. And none ever became overweight..........
