My cat Brin just went into her first heat. It is driving me insane. I read that it could take about 3 to 7 days for her to finish. How long after her heat can I get her fixed? Urgent response please!

I believe you can get her fixed while in heat, but it might cost a bit more - you can maybe check with a vet on that one. I seem to remember being told that by my vet a few years ago when I took in a stray in heat.

Benifits of spaying/neutering
Carina is right. You can spay a cat while in heat, but it may cost a more because the surgery is a bit more involved.
Call your vet and ask the price. As you may know benefits of Spaying and Neutering include; -They are less inclined to roam or fight. -They are generally more affectionate. -Male cats tend to stop spraying. -Dog license fees are 1/2 the cost. -Spayed/neutered pets do not get fat and lazy. -Spaying and neutering can be done as early as four months of age. -Your female dog or cat does not need to have "just one litter." |
