Person from NO looking for Buddy
This was on another forum that I go on. There was no picture attached with the post.
Feel free to cross post. This is Heather Taylor and I am one of thousands of people searching for their pet. I worked closely with the ASPCA to get Buddy rescued from out of our home in New Orleans, LA for days on end. One of the rescue groups that went to my home in New Orleans called me from my home to let me know that the SPCA had successfully broken into our home and rescued Buddy. I was told that he was taken to the Lamar-Dixon shelter. I made the 8 hour drive from where I am at right now to go get him 2 days ago on Thursday and he was not there. He could have only been rescued at the earliest one week ago and he had already been shipped out to another shelter to make room for other animals. I am really scared because I was told the shelters they are sending the animals to will hold the dogs for up to 30 days and then they will adopt them out. These shelters are spread out all over the US!! The lamar-dixon shelter could not tell me where Buddy had been shipped or shed any light on the situation. I was told to just keep going to petfinder and wait for his photo. I have posted/ emailed MANY places and I have listed the info and his photo on petfinder. How will I ever find him?!? I am so scared and angry. 30 DAYS ONLY THEY WILL HOLD OUR PET AND NO ONE COULD EVEN GIVE ME AN IDEA OF WHERE THEY SENT HIM, IF HIS PHOTO HAD INDEED BEEN TAKEN (because I have yet to see him on any site I have searched) OR IF HE HAD BEEN CHIPPED!!! My fear is that by the time all of the photos are finally up ~30 days will have come and gone and we will loose our loved one forever. I have no way of even knowing when/ where he was sent or more importantly when the 30 days will have started or end. I am so disgusted right now. I have been going through all of the photos listed on the various websites as many as 20 times a day to look for him, so please keep your eye out for me and forward this to any shelters you know of. This is not enough time with all the unorganization that took place. Please help pet owners to get this extended or to have more help. Buddy info/ Description: Buddy is a Staffordshire Pitbull Terrior~ brindle (primarily black with some reddish brown undertones). Buddy has a white patch that starts on his chest and moves up his neck and even has a little bit of white under his chin. He weighs around 48 lbs. He was wearing a black nylon collar- no tags. He is not neutered, his ears and tail are not clipped and his eyes are dark brown. He is very friendly, he really is a big friendly baby and he responds well to his name. He belongs to my six year old son Allen in the photo. Again our house in New Orleans was located at: 3727 Pauger St. New Orleans, LA 70122 This is in the 7th Ward of New Orleans near Gentily Please keep your eye out for Buddy at any shelters and help me pass his photo/ description to others!
