Leaving Boyfriend and scared

Ok guys and gals, the decision has finally come to me leaving my BF. Not only because of the dog thing, but many others.
I need your help and badly. I have to find a place that will allow dogs. I have tried the newspaper, and nothing.....I do not know what to do. My breeder will take Harley until I can financially get back on my feet. Which is great, but now I must once again worry about angel, and a place to live. The place we are at now is way too expensive on my own. Help. I am losing control of everything fast.

I don't live in Canada, so I can' help you find a place to live.

I can tell you that you will make it through this. Just take a deep breath and a long, hot shower to clear your head.

I'm so sorry, you are going through this. It is a very hard thing to do. But good for you that you are taking the steps you need to take.

First of all, breath. Don't panic. Don't try to deal with everything at once, or think of everything that needs to be done at once.

What about getting a roommate for the apartment you currently have?

There are apartment buildings in Beaconsfield, west of St. Charles, off of Elm that have a bajillion dogs including pitbulls. Do you know the one's I mean? They also have multiple dogs in the apartments. I don't think they are very costly.

Sorry, had to look up the street they are on. The appartments are on Larch Street in Beaconsfield. http://mappoint.msn.com/(muh4svqokol...outeUnit=Miles

I mapblasted it for you. I used Mondou on St. Jean as the starting point. Hope it helps.

My girlfriend lives on Hilary/ corner Hymus...just off of St Jean's in Pointe Claire...those buildings are dog friendly....and also lots of really cool single women/moms...could be good for you??

I know the building manager rather well. If there are no vacancies I could possibly help further by getting you further up on the waiting list.....but check it out...it's the Vanguard Appartments and quite reasonable rents too.

Pm me if you need to...anytime!!

Also just remembered there is Somervale Gardens, just off of St. John's Blvd. You take St. Jeans South, turn right on Sedgefields and left on Sumervale. They are some sort of townhouses. I was there this weekend and the places are full of pets and kids. Maybe not the Ritz but a starting point?

Do you have any friends or family that can help you out until you find a place to live??

Best of luck!! I know how hard it must be for you, I really do!

If your b/f is abusive, there may be other immediate resources that can help you out.

No not abusive, or I would have left long time ago. I can not afford sumervale gardens. I looked into them awhile ago. Wish I could. But with a baby, a car, and dogs, and debt....I have no chance

Will Harley's breeder consider watching Angel?? Or does the breeder know of temporary foster care until you find a place to live??

she won't, and can't watch angel. a def fight will happen. And I do not have any more finances to repair her. No one can watch angel. I do not know how I am going to do this, but I have to, for my sanity, and my daughters. I can not believe it has come this far, and bad. I need to win a lottery, then all will be ok in Karen's land, until then it will be complete hell.

This is to all the people who live in your neck of the woods............................

Is there anyone who can help out with Angel???? Anyone know of anyone??? This poor gal needs our help desperately!!! Rescues, foster homes, extra kennel anything?? Should we post this question in a different topic, like foster care???

If I lived closer, I'd help you out with all of my heart. I truly, honestly mean that!

Well there are resources I"m sure that can help you depending on your circumstances. I thought the place you were living in was your home and he just moved in or have I lost my sanity about that?

Things always have a way of working out, however in the beginning it's always very very difficult as you can't see the forest for the trees.

Have you considered taking in a student to live with you? This way you wouldn't have to move and you can stay where you are. Do you have an extra bedroom? I wish I had the contact for 'Home Stay' I think thats what it is called.

So you can stay put not move and get support from the student:

This is a Toronto site but I'm sure you can find one there too:

We rent the place now, but My name only on the lease. I can not live with anyone anymore. I am losing it, and I do not want to chance it with my daughter. I am going to take a look at some places, around here, with help from pets.ca. Once I find a place I will give him a certain date to be out. I will have to cancel this lease too which is going to cost me too . I will be bankrupt before all this ends

I don;t want to scare you, but get to the nearest court house ASAP, as you need to establish custody of your daughter (seems the first one to court houe gets temp custody, until a custody hearing can be arranged).

Have you tried your nearest welfare office? they can often provide emergency assistance, and ongoing assistance if need be.

Is there any "geared to income" housing in your area? (the wefare office may be able to help with this as well.

I wish there was more I could do, and I wish you all the best!
Hold your head high, and be brave, it will get better!!

You know, rottie - I don't know the whole situation of course.. but if yours is the only name on the lease... as scary as this is... If I were you I wouldn't be the one leaving. Think long term -- breaking the lease will only cause financial problems for you and your daughter in the future. Think short term -- it's your apartment. I know it seems the easiest way out of a situation like this is to avoid any confrontations... But you have a place to stay right now.

I agree with Luba -- women's shelters can be very helpful with the advice and resources... You don't have to be a battered woman or anything for them to help you with advice, etc. Perhaps they can help you with how to handle any confrontations. My own advice is -- yes - go to the courthouse and make sure you have custody established.. Also.. if you would like to ask him to leave.. set it up so that someone is with you when you do.

Perhaps if you could find somewhere for all of you to stay temporarily while he is told he needs to get out? That way you're not having to deal with any arguing, etc. -- he has time to lick his wounds and get out -- and in the end you still have somewhere to live?

Rottielover I know your in a tough situation now. I am in Western Canada so can't help you find a place. Once you get through this turmoil things will get easier and your life will seem normal again, maybe even better then it is now.Good luck to you, your daughter and your furry friends and I will be thinking of you!

Definitely agree with Pags

You have to get some help with this. People are unpredicatable in situations surrounding domestic issues.

There are reasons that you've made this decision and my guess is you haven't told him because of 'fear'. Having said that, fear alone means there is more going on, to some degree...abuse doesn't have to be physical you know!

This seems to have come to a head right now and dont worry you have a lot of support just be cautious and do it the right way.

I took the liberty of finding this information for you PLEASE get some professional assitance!!

I will get help. And by the way she is not his biological daughter. I think this is why I am hurting so much, because at one point he treated her as if she was....Well something has changed, she is being pushed to the back burner with him, and I do not like the way he is with her anymore. As for custody...she is all mine. As for staying, I can not financially aford this place on my own, that's why I am looking for a smaller place. This place is way too big, for me

I know how you feel in this situation, things got out of hand in my relationship and I knew I had to leave...except I did it there on the spot...the thought of living with him for one more night was making me crazy. I had to take my cat Blaze and all my stuff to my mothers house. It wasnt what I wanted to do but at that point there was no other choice...do you have family or friends you could stay with for a short while?

I wish you the best of luck...just keep your head up and everything will work itself out...

I do wish you luck - I know some lawyers in Mtl if you need one. My sister is a lawyer there tho she stays as far from family law as possible for some reason (and to be honest, I am not sure I understand the stuff she teaches, lol). I think the info about women's shelters is good. There are some good people in the Mtl area - have you contacted social services if you need help? Financial and otherwise. Women's centers provide more than just a place to stay - they also have info on legal matters, medical stuff, custody - tho that seems to be OK. Could you get a friend or student to live with you until the lease is over - breaking a lease is never wise. Tho you could sublet it? And at the same time find a cheaper place - there are housing people at the universities who can help and social services can help there too.

Good luck!

You know guys do this sort of thing all the time, they start treating you like crap and change their behaviour because they're cowards. He'd much rather see you end the relationship then do it himself. BECAUSE he's probably guilty of something like cheating on you.

Do yourself a favour and if you haven't been protecting yourself get to a doctor and get checked for std's.

He's truly a coward and you are better off without him.

I am sorry for the long list from before but Ican't read french and didnt know which one can help you. So what I say is you have ALL OF US here to guide and support you morally now go make some phone calls! Don't worry we'll be here when u get back!!

Who ya gonna call.....jerk busters!! HAHAH wouldn't that be a good business!

SMILE because something good is coming from this!

Now that is what i call motivation!

Do you belong to a church? When my mom left her abusive boyfriend they found her a place to stay and helped with groceries etc...

Did you get angel from the SPCA (i think that is what you stated earlier not so sure) if so will they be willing to help you out with rehoming her/foster care?
