Name that mix?

I've had Tosa for almost three months now. She is a rescue from Todos Santos, Mexico. At first I thought she may be a pit mix but as she grows I'm not sure. I was told by someone that she looked like a Lurcher which is not a breed but more of a type of dog. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/lurcher.htm They are always some kind of sight hound mixed with a working breed. Looking at some photos of Lurchers I'm leaning towards Grey Hound and some kind of Shepard mix for Tosa. I'm not sure about the shepard though as she is almost five months and only 20lbs. I think she is going to look like the photo of Flash in the above link. What do you all think. Lurcher?

She's certainly grown in to a beautiful dog,she does IMHO not look like a pit anymore...she's very slender and delicate looking.
The problem with Island and Mexico dogs is that they can have sooo many mixes, but whatever she is,she's really pretty

Thanks Chico. Yeah, I know I'll probably just have to settle with telling people she is simply of unknown mix since she is from Mexico. I'm just glad she was found by the people that rescued her. It's really to bad that dogs for the most part are treated as pests in Mexico.

Another reason I was wondering about what breeds she has was that she seems to be developing that deep chest of a Greyhound that may lead to a bloat problem in the future. The brindle color looks Greyhound also. Are there any other breeds besides Pits and Boxers that have brindle variations?

I don't know all that much about dogs, but I am pretty sure many different dogs can be brindle,I think even Great Danes and we had a GSD here who also was brindle although longhaired.
Someone here more of an expert can probably give you a better idea...
I've had a GSD/Chow mix,a cockerspaniel and a collie mix myself,but currently have three kitty-cats

What a beautiful dog!

My vote is German Shepherd and maybe pit bull to account for the brindling, but could be greyhound.

I say those first two breeds because they are so common. She could be something else of course.

There is a site specifically for owners of mixed breeds, and even a page where can post a pic and everyone will guess what she is. Lots of great info too!

I think you'll have to wait till she's fully grown and look at her temperment and proportions. Personally, I see some greyhound in there. The knees and posture could be german shepherd, the tail too. The width of the muzzle is too wide for a greyhound, but ok for a GSD.

Either way, I'd be careful about bloat. If there GSD in there, you're still at risk.
