Kung Fu Hustle

My husband, a few friends and myself went last night to see this film. . . .

It was quite funny! Its a cross between "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" and "The Mask"

It is very reminicent of the old kung fu tv show 'Monkey' - same sort of low budget look. . . but very fun.

For a light hearted, enjoyable film that is no where near serious, a cute plot, and non-exsitant 'moral lesson'. . . . Kung Fu Hustle!

This film is subtitled.

I saw it a while ago on video. I might go see it on the big screen though. Pretty funny film. I love asian movies and rent them often. Today I'm going to watch a not well known Hiyao Miyazaki cartoon...can't decide which one, but not one of the ones that's been made into english yet.

yeah. I've seen most of his films. We have all the ones that have been made into english, and a japanese box set of all his films in japanese (I think there are 16 films on it). My favorite so far is Nausica and the Valley of the wind. I like it in japanese better though. Porco Rosso is funny. Totoro was the first one I ever saw, just after we started dating. I was sick so my BF came over to my parents house (where I was living at the time) and brought it over. It is a cute movie. I have got my neice and nephew addicted to them too. I wish I knew the name of the one I saw today, but there is no english on the packaging, and only english subtitles, and the title wasn't subtitled for some reason.

Grave of the Fireflies is sad though...just a warning.

If you like Japanese movies, they have them every Saturday afternoon on Spike TV. They are Kung Fu movies, but they are actually pretty good, and dubbed in English. Usually kind of funny, too. I've seen a few Jet Li movies on there.

unfortunately, we don't get spike. We only have basic cable, so only get to channel 28.

Maybe after all my bad luck with my new job pans out, We will upgrade.
