Hi everyone

Just found this forum this afternoon and looks like a great place. My name is Kelly and I live in Hamilton. We adopted our Boston,a Pitbull, from the local SPCA about 1 month ago.He is 16 months old and very lively. We decided to adopt a pitbull after much searching and much disagreeing about the new laws.Hamilton had started to destroy pitbulls in the animal control care the week we adopted Boston(this is what really put us over the top)and decided we needed to give one of these animals a good home.We lost our Dobiex in November due to cancer and the night we brought Boston home our beloved Maggie the sheltie(14 years old) decided we were in good hands and died in my husbands arms(she had been sick and decided since she wasnt suffering we wanted her here at home)So Boston has been good comfort for the family.
Looking forward to getting some good advice about Boston.

Oh I'm so sorry I missed this thread!

Welcome Kellyla!!! Bless your soul for adopting from the Humane Society and especially for adopting a Pit Bull at this awful time in Ontario! Have you ever owned one before??? You won't regret it, I promise! They are nothing more than gigantic, wiggly bum, love bugs!!

And yes, Boston is a looker!
Never mind the dogs, beware of the owner!!!

Hi and welcome!! So nice to have yet another pitty fan here. Boston is gorgeous. Did he come from Stoney Creek? He looks very familiar...

Boston is a real cutie

What is man without beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from great loneliness of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected.

Glad to have you!

Glad to have you aboard! I love pitts - although I have never owned one I do have two different friends with them. One is a pitt/terrier mix - looks like a mini pitt! The other one was a full blooded pitt and he was so funny - he would make the rounds of a room wanting to be petted by everyone, but never stopping at one person long enough to actually get any lovin! He would leave welts on you from his tail he would wag it so hard - it had never been docked. Both of those dogs are really sweet - I can't believe that some places have actually banned the breed! That's like saying you need to cut down an entire orchard because you found a worm in a couple of apples! Stupid IMO!

For what we were told,he is all Pit Bull.We have never owned one before.I dont agree with this ban so after some education we decided we had to rescue one.He came from the Hamilton SPCA on Dartnall. He was apparently featured on TV(a few people have recognized him,he is such a star,LOL)For the 2 months we have had him it has been great. He took right to our family and it is like he was meant to be with us.
