What are your pups and other fur babies like when you aren't feeling well?
Right now I am home and feel like a big bag of poo! Work was laying new flooring this past week and the adhesive that they were using burnt the back of my throat. It is totally raw and covered with blisters and it pains me to swallow my own spit.
Anyway... the dogs are fantastic. They have been lying with me, and every time I move Willy ( the older one) will make sure that I am comfy before he lays back down. They are being quiet and they aren't even play fighting! They always know when one of us isn't feeling well and always seem to be on their best behaviour! What are your pups like? And other fur babies! |

my three month old puppy is a sweetheart when we're not feeling well. the other day i had a killer headache and went to lay down in my room. my mom had to keep chasing after him because he'd run upstairs looking for me. if i've just got a case of the blues, he's on his best behaviour, which is what you need when youre not in the mood to chase after a baby.

Den-Den and Puss-Puss both seem to like to get in my lap in the wheelchair. I thought they'd freak if I started to roll around but they seem to like it. The little pup we're fostering likes to lick my toes sticking out of the cast.

I think most animals feel something is not right with their owner when you're sick.
My Rocky jumps on my lap for cuddles if I even cough and as I was just now crying over Sebastian in another post, here he is,big warm and fuzzy offering comfort

The dogs are cranky because they're not getting their usual daily walkies!
(It's snowing and blowing like a you-know-what outside, and I did something to my back yesterday so I've just been hibernating all day; cleaning house etc.) I curled up on my bed with a book for a little while, and Egg likes to cuddle up & sleep next to my face...she liked that. I'm resisting taking some Vicodin, because if I do, the critters are gonna have a sleeping, snoring, boring mom for about 10 hours.

I call my 'Nurse' Windy when I'm not feeling well, she sticks to me like glue. And Smoke is an angel when I cry, nudging me and chirping... And when I have headaches or night chills, Buddy curls up around my head. It's nice not to feel alone when you get sick or just feel like crud! Now if I could just teach the little guy how to make tea, I'd be all set! LOL

A few years ago when it was just Riley (bunny) and I, I had a really bad flu/achey/virus/cold thing
and couldn't talk, barely get out of bed for 3 days. It was horrible. Riley stayed in bed with me the ENTIRE time. The only time she left the bed was to go for some food or a poopie in her littler box (both of these things were in the living room). She was/is the best little friend. I'd rub her and we watched daytime tv (ugh) and have naps. She is still around of course, but that is one of my fondest memories of her.

My wife has noticed that Daisy isn't as rambunctious with her, and doesn't lean into her when she comes in now that she is in her fourth month. She was mentioning this yesterday, that it's almost like Daisy knows that Cheryl is "with child" and is more gentle with her.

I was home again today... 5th day in a row without going out, starting to wear thin on me. But all day the beagles did not leave my side.

When I cry capone looks at me, gallops over tail wagging, and trys licking my tears and snuggling half on my lap (He does this because hes not allowed on the couch so he puts his front paws on you and falls asleep with his back legs crossed and on the ground) . He also very perceptive when Im sick. Sleeps with me all day. Doesnt bug to go out or anything.

The Best...
We got Dalton shortly after 911. My girlfriend is American and he soothed our souls. He is extremely high maintainence and high energy. He was just what she needed.
Then I had back issues and couldn't stand up right and endured pain every night for months. When I was down he rested his little head on my feet and asked for nothing. I don't know if anyone here has ever needed back surgery but that mutt was the best pain killer there was. . |
