Wheatable

I guess it's a mixed wheaten breed.
It's a term I've heard in the past couple of days at other wheaten rescue sites.

hmmm

Doesn't seem to be very specific, just a term they use for Wheaton Mixes. I just looked at a site and interestingly enough, one of the pups looks very much like two puppies we have. The mom is a NS Duck Toller but the pups have the blond coat with the spiky black mask faces. We may have Wheatables and not even know it, lol. Learn something new everyday.

Red face Wheaten Rescue

I went to the website that you posted a few days ago but I can't get anyone at those phone #'s.
I'll just have to keep trying I guess.
Thanks for the info though )

no problem

Wheatons are pretty scarce in the rescue world. So it might take some time to get one through rescue. Several groups have email and sometimes it is so much faster to make contact that way. Good luck in your search!

Have you tried Yahoo?

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Wheate...leforAdoption/

Most of these dogs are in the States (Kansas) but they do have some in New Jersey. Don't give up. We actually found our "wheatable" roaming the streets after being abandoned. NEVER expected to love him THIS much. They really are a special breed.

Good luck and keep us posted!
