Why is my cat still acting like she is in heat??

I am totally puzzled by this so I thought I would try this method for some advice.

I have a 2-year-old female cat named Misty. I didn't get her spayed until about 2 months before her second birthday because I couldn't stand sending her in for an operation. (Yeah, ok I'm a wimp).

When she was in heat prior to being spayed, she would make very loud, deep meows and it was the only time she liked her face rubbed. Three months later and about once or twice a day, she starts meowing in her "heat" voice and wants me to rub her face! The meowing only happens for a minute or two, (as opposed to hours in our pre-spayed era) and she doesn't do all of the things she used to when she was in heat, so I am confident that she was spayed by the Vet I took her to.

We also recently moved but she is very happy. She moved from an environment with another older female cat into her new home with a 1-year-old male cat that was neutered at a young age. They get along fine so I know she is not acting out.

Is this a habit she had for so long that now she thinks she "should" go into heat? Could there be something internally wrong with her? I don't care about the noise....I just want to ensure nothing is wrong with her. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I suspect she's just figured out that yowling is a good way to get face rubs!

I would suggest that she may have had a minor heat cycle. She was older when she was fixed so she has gone through many of them. Her hormones may still be out of wack. This is just a guess.

IF you want to be absolutely sure that the spay was complete, you can take her in for a blood test to check for female hormone (estrogen).

I have a female cat who bellows like that, for no reason I can see. Cats!
