Question just noticed eye spot

My Sweetie Pie is a 2 year old mixed breed. This morning I noticed a small fuzzy area in eye. It's not in the iris, but kinda off to one side (about 7pm using a clock face). It doesn't seem to affect her vision as she was able to snap up a treat in the air as usual. The only other thing I noticed is that she had a on-going sneezing fit earlier in the morning.

Is it on the cornea or under it? Could it be some eye goobers floating on top of the cornea?

If it persists, it's definitely something that should be checked out as soon as possible by a vet.

It's on the cornea, about 7pm from the center of the eye. It really looks like a scrape? She has shown absolutely no interest or problem with her eye, no rubbing, itching, or vision problems. I will probably stop by the vet tomorrow and see what they have to say. Thanks for your interest.

Shortly after we got our dog (a couple months ago), I noticed little spots on both of her eyes (probably there long before we got her), then a few days later her eyes were very red and oozing, after a visit to vet and much ointment in her eyes, the answer to her spots is inconclusive, his best guess is that they're mineral deposits and may or may not cause her future problems with infections.

I have a more detailed description of what he said but it's packed away for our move. I'll have to dig it out after and check it out again.

She still has the spots but hasn't had an infection since. I guess you should look out for infections, just in case.

I don't want to scare you but ... I would have it checked out by a vet asap.

One of my golden had what looked like a scratch .... my vet saw other things in her eye , that I couldn't see myself. He thought she may had a brain tumor of something like that. I never had it checked out by a specialist because she was already dying of cancer but ever since , every time I see something in their eyes , I have it check out.

Does it look like a scuff mark, sort of like her eyeball was sandpapered? My Hogan had a mark like that when he was younger and it turned out to be fatty deposits. We put him on a dog food with lower fat content. I agree though, best to see a vet. Good luck!

Sounds like it may be corneal dystrophy (which is usually not very serious). This is similar to the fatty/lipid deposit described in a previous post here. Sometimes it can be controlled by diet, but sometimes, this is a hereditary thing and the lipid levels in the blood are normal. A vet visit is in order.
