Teething Teenager

Seriously, can it get any worse? (of course it can, but I hope it won't!) I am about to vent... Benny is just under 6 months old we think. I think he is hitting a teenage type rebellion, as he has forgotten every thing he knows, or can no longer hear my voice (he hears other things just fine). He is also being ugly toward Allie, she puts up with it to a point, then corrects him, so I stay out of that. But some times Allie looks at me like "could you please fix him!?!" (he is neutered) To top it off, he is trying to teeth, as in, the adult teeth are coming in, but the baby ones are not falling out, 7 extras at this point, he looks like a little alligator! and he wants to chew on ME! We have been to the vet about his teeth and decided to give him a couple more weeks to see if some of them will fall out, though it is obvious that his K-9s will not (that's right he wants to chew on me with those sharp little spears), so removal is scheduled for June 9. I know the little guy does not feel good, his perky little ears have drooped. But these are going to be a challenging couple of weeks! I feel better now, thanks!

Don't pay to get them out!!

Here's what works GrEaT!

Take a old washcloth or something you mind getting destroyed.
Soak it in chicken broth and twist it like a pizzle.
Put it in the freezer until hard.

Let him chew on that SUPERVISED only!

He is chewing because he's TRYING to knock those teeth out, they hurt. What you can do is play tug games and rip them out, it's what he wants and nature lol.
Try playing frisbee, it'll knock some out.

The best is let him chew on beef tendons, bones (not rawhide or pigs ears), cloth and hard toys. I give it a week before they're all gone.

By 6 months old they should be out.

I've also heard that ice-cubes are good for teething puppies especially ice-cubes made from broth with dog-safe ingredients.

I second ice cubes - they numb the area a bit and reduce irritation

We have been doing the ice cubes, frozen wash cloths, deer bones, and Nylabones we play tug all the time, we are trying to get them out and avoid the surgery, his little body has been through so much already! His back teeth have come out fine, but all four canines plus the one incisor are still stuck tight, and the adult teeth are now bigger than the baby ones. We will keep trying though! Thanks for the suggestions!
