Quarter sized, raised purple lump on my dog!
Hello all.
My dog has a purple lump on the inside of his hind leg. It has increased in size and I am a little concerned. I searched for images of lipoma, but it doesn't seems to look like any of them. I was hoping somebody could share their wealth of knowledge. (sorry for the size of the pic) |

Welcome to the board, BoondockSaint.
What did your vet say about the lump?

Thanks for the welcome.
Embarassingly we haven't taken Yogi to the vet about it. To be honest, it is in a spot that you have to genuinely "look for". We are going to take him in Thursday, but I was hoping to gain some insight before hand. Thanks again! |

It could be something as simple as a benign histiocytoma, but a biopsy will likely need to be done to tell exactly what it is. How old is your dog?

Yogi is 8...though he still acts like a puppy.

Definitely needs to have it looked at, then. Let us know what the vet says on Thursday
Meanwhile, you wouldn't happen to have a few pics of your entire dogs to share, would you?

How quickly has it grown?
Glad you have a vet appt as it definitely should be biopsied. Good luck and please keep us updated. |
